The said bar exam, which is a professional licensure examination for lawyers, took place in September 5, 12, 19 and 26, 2010, with a total of 4,847 examinees, the least number of examinees in the last 8 years. Only 982 of the 4,847 examinees passed the exam or barely 20.26%!
The first two topnotchers in the 2010 Bar Exams both came from Ateneo de Manila University. On top is Cesario Antonio Singzon Jr with 89% followed by Filemon Ray Javier with 86.95%.
Singzon is now the 20th first placer from Ateneo de Manila Law School and his 89% grade ranks him 71st among the 98 first-placers from 1919 to 2010. He ranks higher than former Executive Secretary Ronaldo Zamora (86th, 87.3%) and 2010 Presidential Candidate Gibo Teodoro (93rd, 86.185%)

Important Announcement from the Supreme Court:
"Oathtaking of the successful Bar candidates is set at 10 a.m. on April 14, 2011, at the Philippine International Convention Center.
The Bar passers may secure their clearances from the Office of the Bar Confidant during office hours, Monday to Friday, beginning March 21 to April 13, 2011, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m."

In 2009 Philippine Bar Exam, the number of passers was 1,451 out of 5,903 examinees or a passing percentage of 24.58%. San Beda College's Reinier Paul R. Yebra and Charlene Mae C. Tapic were the topnotchers, 1st and 2nd respectively.
The last day of the September 2010 Bar Exam held in De La Salle - Taft was the time that the grenade blast / explosion happened and injured some examinees and Law students.
